We’ve just rolled out a change to how you interact with videos across the library: the old 5-star rating system is gone, replaced with a simple 👍 thumbs-up for likes and a 👁 view counter for every video.

Why the change?

Star ratings ask for more than most visitors want to give — deciding between 3 stars and 4 stars adds friction, and most people just want a quick way to say “I like this one.” A single tap is faster, more honest, and a lot more fun.

At the same time, we wanted a way to surface which videos are actually getting watched — not just liked — so we added view counts, the same way YouTube does.

What’s new

Every video card, table row, popup, and detail page now shows two simple numbers:

• 👍+XXX — the number of likes a video has received
• 👁+XXX — the number of times a video has been played

Liking a video is one tap, one time per visitor — once you’ve liked a video, the button locks for you (and is also rate-limited per IP address), the same way the old star rating worked. View counts, on the other hand, increment every time a video starts playing — no limit, just like YouTube.

Sorting and finding popular videos

The old “Top Rated” sort button is now 👍 Most Liked, and it sorts videos by like count, highest first. The old minimum-rating filter has been removed entirely — with a thumbs-up system, there’s no “rating” to filter by, just popularity.

Find your favorites

Want to see what the community is loving most? Switch to 👍 Most Liked sorting on the video library and browse from the top down. And next time you watch something that teaches you a new flow or move, give it a 👍 — it helps everyone else find the good stuff too.
